Core Beliefs

We at Ginger Creek affirm the confessions of the early Christian church, both the Apostle’s and Nicene Creeds. We also strive to build our fellowship on a common goal: expressing our Passion for God and Compassion for People.

About God: God is one (Deuteronomy 6:4). There is only one God, the creator and sustainer of all things and He has eternally existed in three coequal persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

Father: God is the Father (Ephesians 4:6). He is the all-powerful sovereign ruler over all things. He is love and has all knowledge and wisdom. In everything He does He acts justly and fairly.

Son: God is the Son (Philippians 2:5-11). Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He became a man, lived a sinless life, died on the cross to pay the penalty for the sins of mankind, rose from the dead to demonstrate his power over death, and went to Heaven where He will continue to advocate for those who trust Him for salvation until He returns to earth.

Spirit: God is the Holy Spirit (John 14:16-17). The eternal Spirit of God is present in the world to make men aware of their need for forgiveness through Jesus Christ. He also lives in every believer from the moment of salvation, providing those who put their trust in Jesus with strength, peace, understanding of the scriptures and guidance in making life choices.

About People: God made people to express His image and exercise His will on earth. Unlike other earthly creatures, people can personally relate to God. All people are born with a sinful nature however and are bound to abandon God in favor of choosing their own way to live. Sinners by both nature and action, men experience a separation from God they are helpless to overcome, and therefore can’t relate to God personally.

About Salvation: God’s free and permanent gift of forgiveness and life is ours exclusively through a personal relationship with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This free gift of forgiveness is all that is needed to know God personally. Those who by grace through faith receive this free gift of forgiveness will spend eternity with God and those who finish this life without knowing Jesus personally as Lord will go to Hell, a place of permanent separation from God.

About the Bible: Scripture is trustworthy, reliable and our sole authority regarding faith in Jesus Christ, about whom it testifies. It was inspired by God and written by human authors who were guided by the Holy Spirit. It is the ultimate source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.

About Church: Everyone who knows God personally is part of his family, the church, which joins together in local congregations to help people know Jesus personally and follow His ways. Jesus said the greatest commandment was to Love God and the second was to Love People. That’s why expressing our Passion for God and Compassion for People is so important at Ginger Creek.
