In 2017, after Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico with devastating destruction, GC began seeking God´s voice for what He might want us to do. In 2018 and 2019, God opened doors for us to begin walking with Ground Zero pastors as they minister to families in the ongoing rehabilitation of lives, homes, and community.
September 20, 2017, Hurricane María made landfall at Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, now known as Ground Zero, with Category 5 impact and left a path of unbelievable destruction across the entire island. The loss of lives, homes, crops, jobs, and infrastructure is difficult to comprehend. It has left the people of PR with years of healing to do. Local churches are taking on the challenge, especially among the most vulnerable and under-resourced. Ginger Creek is teaming up with two of those churches at Ground Zero in January 2020 to be part of the healing.
