Zach Montroy PDF

zach_montroy.jpgHey, I’m Zach, the Pastor of Arts and Communications at Ginger Creek. As the Pastor of Arts and Communications, I get to lead an incredibly talented group of artists both on staff and volunteer. I believe fully in the power of harnessing the arts to paint a huge picture of God. Whether through music, drama, production, media, dance, or visual arts we have the privilege of serving a creative God by using the gifts that He has given each of us to help people take the next step on their spiritual journey. Most of my responsibility is behind the scenes stuff that makes the service look and feel the way it does when you walk through the doors.

BASIC STUFF: I was born in Dallas Texas, but grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I grew up a PK (pastor’s kid), and as a teenager I was pretty determined not to go into ministry. However, during my senior year of high school I felt called to go into full-time ministry. I began working full-time at a church in Louisville, Kentucky during my sophomore year in college, and attended the Willow Creek Arts Conference. From that point on, I knew what God was calling me to do. My job description changed as I quickly embraced and cast vision for the arts at that church. I began to see what God had prepared me to offer in the area of creative arts.

Like I said before, I began serving at a church in Louisville, then moved to the San Francisco area, and recently God brought me to Ginger Creek. God has opened my eyes to see how arts can be used as a vehicle to reach this area for Christ. I am excited to see how He will use Ginger Creek in the years to come.

Birthday: July 13, 1982

Education: I began studying classical voice at Boyce College, then transferred to the University of Louisville where I began a degree in Public Relations and Mass Communication.
