let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” Hebrews 10:24-25 (ESV)

ALL THE MORE

Christ-followers have been expectantly waiting on His return since his ascension, realizing that one generation will see Him split the Eastern sky and hoping it will be theirs. Living expectantly focused on the future can cause us to disengage from the purpose in the present which is why we’re compelled in Hebrews 10:24-25 to do just the opposite. As we see the day of Christ’s return getting closer, instead of losing focus on our great commission, we are to do it all the more while driving ourselves to creatively consider how to help as many Christ-followers as possible go on the love-and-good-works journey with us.

That’s why at the end of the year we’re pausing to ask ourselves questions about our purpose, principles, and patterns. It’s a time of personal renewal we call SEEDS. We recall that the seed of the gospel was planted in our lives by people who sacrificed for us, and it changed everything for us. We recount the seeds of the gospel we have been planting in others lives and how it’s changing them. We recommit to plant seeds of the gospel in the coming season of our lives so that more people can experience God, breakthrough, and calling.

Our church has the opportunity to increase our impact. God has opened doors locally and globally and it’s causing all of us to think about what our lives are really about and self-evaluate our level of generosity and openhandedness with God’s resources entrusted to us. Each of us should review the powerful spiritual principles of generosity and consider how a Christian can live a counterculture life in this world.

OUR GOAL IS $125,000

Consider these questions:

  • What if we committed again to live this amazing and abundant life as we join the chain of generous people of faith that have gone before us?
  • Could we be generous all the time, not just when there is a special project?
  • Could we pray about giving above and beyond because God has gone above and beyond for us in sending Jesus Christ for us?
  • What if we depended on God in a new way, stretching our faith and our generosity?

Pray about pledging and giving to SEEDS as an act of worship – recommitting to Jesus Christ, His Kingdom, and our Church’s future.

All The More as we see the Day approaching!
