Our SLE Nashville trip is less than one month away. It’s going to be exciting to finally get there to do the work that God has prepared for us to do!
The students on the team got together to prepare for part of our service in Nashville. During one of our workdays, we will distribute care packages to people in need in the Nashville area. We went shopping together, and the students brought their own money to buy supplies for the care packages. They spent $130 of their own money, and we’re prepared to distribute 20 care packages to folks who might need a little something.
My prayer is that these small items will bless the people who receive them, but more than that, I pray that we can somehow show God’s love to these folks. I also pray that the hearts of our team members are changed as we encounter people who are struggling, that we become more and more like Christ in our love for all people, that we return home and consider how God wants us to help people…….to be Micah 6:8 people! “He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God”.
After shopping, we stopped to discuss what we’ll do during our free day in Nashville. We ruled out line dancing and museums ;). You’ll have to follow the blog to see what fun they come up with!
Please continue to pray for our preparations – we leave early on Sunday July 17.
